NEET Counselling is a standardized Counselling process for admission to MBBS and BDS programs at medical and dental colleges across India. The eligibility of candidates is determined by their NEET exam scores. NEET Counselling is conducted in four consecutive rounds: Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up Round, and Stray Vacancy Round. The Candidates who have qualified the NEET exam and scored above 50 percentile are eligible for NEET Counselling.
The NEET counselling generally happens in two parts first All India Quota and second the State Quota. All India Quota consists of 15% of seats in Government Medical Colleges and all seats of Deemed University, AIIMS, JIPMER, BHU, AMU, ESIC, AFMC & Central University. The All India Quota Counselling is Conducted by the Medical Counselling Committe (MCC). The Remaining 85% seats in Government Colleges and 100% seats in Private Medical Colleges including Management Quota comes under the respective State Authorities.
The importance of this Counselling procedure cannot be stressed. It serves as an important link between applicants and the universities of their choice, allowing them to pursue their goals of becoming doctors or dentists. The Counselling procedure contributes significantly to ensuring that qualified applicants are admitted based on their qualifications and preferences.
